POSITION: Missions Coordinator

JOB SUMMARY:
The DPC Missions Coordinator will assist the DPC Missions Committee in developing and implementing a church-wide plan to cultivate a culture of mission in the DPC church family.

REPORTS TO: DPC Missions Pastor

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assess the current state of international and domestic mission involvement at DPC and assist the Missions Committee in the development and implementation of a plan to increase connection between our missionaries and ministries and the DPC church family.

  • Investigate existing and new ministry opportunities, both proactively and responsively, and make recommendations to the DPC Missions Committee about current and future ministry opportunities.

  • Nurture relationships between the DPC church family and our supported missionaries.

  • Assist in the execution, administration, and planning of Short Term Missions at DPC, including location research and planning, administrative tasks, promoting, recruiting, understanding legal requirements, effective communication with team, developing STM training curriculum, and updates for the church body.

  • Assist in the execution and planning of other initiatives of the DPC Missions Committee (e.g. Missions Conferences and Sunday School presentations).

  • Facilitate the connection of various DPC ministries with the Missions Committee and our supported missionaries.

  • Coordinate and attend bimonthly (six per year) Missions Committee Meetings.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum education level is a Bachelor’s Degree

  • Leadership experience with a history of impact on others

  • Experience building teams, inspiring action, and connecting people with opportunities related to their gifts/abilities/interests

  • Ability to coordinate a variety of tasks and responsibilities with strong administrative and organizational skills

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills

  • Willingness to embody the philosophy of ministry of Downtown Presbyterian

HOURS AND SCHEDULE:

Approximately 10 hours per week with no more than 40 hours per month.

Flexibility Monday to Friday, with occasional Sunday work.

SALARY AND BENEFITS:

This is a 1099 position from the Missions Committee with funding for 12 months with no benefits.

Compensation will be a flat monthly fee commensurate with experience.
