FAQs

  • To support DPC members in loving every avenue of Greenville through their collaboration with nonprofits or other opportunities not connected with DPC CityServe Partners. Mini Grants will be awarded to eligible organizations, or individuals on behalf of those organizations, for projects that benefit underserved individuals, families, and communities.

  • Mini Grants are one-time donations up to $500 to support expenses related to Projects in which DPC members are involved or leading. DPC members may receive one grant in a 12-month period.

  • DPC members who are volunteering or working at an established 501(c)(3) nonprofit or local school that works with underserved populations. Because our hope is that Projects would involve both the DPC Member and, where possible, their DPC community group, to apply for a mini grant, applicants must be active in a DPC community group.

    Eligible Organizations must be:

    ● Established 501(c)3 nonprofit organizations or schools that work with underserved populations

    ● Located in Greenville County, with preference given to Projects in downtown Greenville

    ● Christian or secular organizations that are closely aligned with DPC's Vision and Mission

  • Eligible Use of Funds:

A grant request should be for a specific need or project at an Eligible Organization where a DPC member works or volunteers.

    ● Have a specific goal, budget, and timeline

    ● Include volunteer opportunities for DPC members

    ● Be completed within a 12-month period

Priority will be given to projects with meaningful volunteer opportunities and those that foster the building of long-term relationships where the Gospel can be shared.

    Ineligible Use of Funds:

    Grants will not fund:

    ● General administrative costs such as rent, utilities, salaries, etc.

    ● A current CityServe partner

    ● Political organizations

    ● More than one organization per DPC member per 12-month period

    ● Organizations that are not closely aligned with DPC’s Vision and Mission.

  • An application period will be open twice a year in spring and fall. Applications will be due March 31 and August 31. Applications are available on downtownpres.org and should be submitted online. Budgets should be emailed to Hannah Thompson at hannah@downtownpres.org by the due date. Depending on application date, applicants will be notified in April or September. All projects must be completed within a 12-month period.

  • The CityServe Mini Grant review team will evaluate all requests after each application deadline using a scoring rubric. Priority will be given to projects with measurable outcomes, volunteer opportunities for other DPC members, and those located in Greenville, especially downtown. All applications will be ranked based on total score, with the top scores receiving fully funded grants up to $500. If the Eligible Organization is overseeing the project, the award will be sent directly to the organization. If the DPC member is overseeing the project, the award will be reimbursed to the DPC member after receipts are provided for purchases made in accordance with the approved budget.

  • Successful grant applicants should provide a brief written or verbal report immediately following the completion of the project. This communication could share how the project was carried out, who was involved, the number of people impacted and the nature of that impact. We would love to hear how you saw God at work! Photos are also welcome! If you do take pictures, please be sensitive when including those who are not DPC members in your photos, ensuring you have their permission and utilizing a photo release form available through the nonprofit organization as appropriate. Please email all communication to Hannah Thompson at hannah@downtownpres.org.
